Remote Health Monitoring

This is an automated Remote Patient Monitoring system (RPM).

RPM is a technology to enable monitoring of patients outside of conventional clinical settings (e.g. in the home), which may increase access to care and decrease healthcare delivery costs.

RPM, also called homecare telehealth, is a type of ambulatory healthcare that allows a patient to use a mobile medical device to perform a routine test and send the test data to a healthcare professional
in real-time.

Telemedicine

this is the use of technology that enables remote healthcare. Basically, it makes it possible for physicians to treat patients whenever needed and wherever the patient is, by using a computer or smartphone. Holidays, weekends, late night or any other situation when regular medical care is not possible.

Telehealth

This technology provides a telemedicine tool for patients to take an active role in the management of
their chronic diseases. HT tools include audio and video conferencing capabilities, allowing remotely
located health care professionals to interview, observe and educate the patient.

Telehealth in nursing practice

While the basic practice of using technology to connect with patients is the same, telehealth nursing
is one area that has evolved over the decades, opening doors for nurses to enhance their careers and help improve patients’ overall health care experiences.
